Happy Hump Day! I thought I would try something a little new on my blog and do a hair care post where I share my hair routine, as well as the millions of products I have tried in my attempts to tame the mane. A couple of days ago, while doing my hair, I came up with this idea as I’m often asked how and what I do to my hair. I’ve provided a list of my products below!
Now for my daily hair routine:
I wash my hair every Monday, as I can’t allow my hair to get too dry (my hair basically never gets greasy and is so thirsty for products), with my Silk Elements Mega Cholesterol Conditioning Treatment and my SheaMoisture Coconut and Hibiscus Curl & Shine Shampoo. When done I leave a little bit of conditioner in it as it makes combing it out easier, but before I start with that I wrap it up in a towel for about 15 minutes to let the conditioner sit and to dry up the excess water. I then add the SheaMoisutre Raw Shea Butter Deep Treatment Masque and the Carol’s Daughter Black Vanilla Moisture & Shine Leave-In Conditioner and begin to comb my hair out. When I’m finished with this extensive and trying process I proceed to braid my hair into corn rows to sleep in overnight. Now, I know a lot of people with thinner hair do this for waves, but I find that it works to neutralize my curls and maintain my curl pattern.
In the morning I go through the process of undoing my braids and letting it fall naturally. Normally I don’t put anything in it, but if it is feeling a little dry I will add my SheaMoisture Coconut & Hibiscus Curling Gel Souffle to throw in some moisture and keep my curls sane. This is basically it, but as the week progresses I use whichever products seem fitting to preserve my curls.
Disclaimer* This may not work for girls with thinner hair as it would be product overkill
